Dear Survivor:
We note you requested a Survival Booklet in the past. Troubled Times, Inc. has been supporting a Seed TEAM in their
efforts to encourage families to have home gardens and learn to collect seed, in preparation for self sufficiency. We have a
limited amount of seed saved which we would like to distribute as Restart Your Garden packets. The packets are compact,
each about the size of a mans fist, but contains about three dozen seeds types in zip-lock bags. The idea is to have
something appropriate for a back-pack, as regardless of planning, each survivor may find themselves required to travel,
perhaps with little notice, during the times ahead. The packet comes with instructions, the goal not to feed a survival group
but to supply seed for garden trials and to restart gardening. The goal is to grow seed from the packet contents, and this seed
then used to grow food for survivors. The packet includes herbs, grains, and vegetable seeds - selected for short growing
season (Chinese Cabbage), nutritive value (Buckwheat), storage ease (Beans, Winter Squash), or unique qualities (Flax for
Linen, Wormwood for deworming), or traditional and familiar garden items (Corn, Tomatoes, etc.).
Of course, everyone is encouraged to collect as much seed as possible on their own, and to practice gardening and become familiar with seed saving practices. Bear in mind that a great deal of effort has gone into this preparation, and that these packets are limited in number and should not be wasted. That said, if you would like one of these packets, and would value it, please respond.
Sincerely,
Nancy Lieder, Seed TEAM Co-Lead
