Seed Distribution Proposal : Amended
Purpose: To reimburse those members of the Seed TEAM of Troubled Times who grow non-hybrid seed for distribution to others, when returning the harvest to a distribution point, and to reimburse those members of the Seed TEAM who are operating as a distribution point when they distribute non-hybrid seed to growers periodically. This grant proposal is to cover the cost of postage for distributors, and the return postage of seed grown to the distribution point.
Cost: For the 1st year of operation, 1998, with 19 members of Troubled Times participating, the estimated cost of postage reimbursement is under $100, including postage overseas. Cost in forthcoming years cannot be estimated at this time.
Disbursement: Disbusement of funds to reimburse growers and distribution hubs will be by the petty cash method, with the Treasurer writing checks based on a voucher from the distribution hubs. The distribution hubs are aware of their postage to distribute seeds to the growers, and can record the postage on parcels of returning seed received from the various growers. The Treasurer will then write a petty cash check to each individual to be reimbursed, off a single voucher.
Agreements: This project does not require a binding agreement on potential patents or trademarks, as it does not involve a product, per se. Non-hybrid seeds are currently in the public domain and cannot be patented.
