I checked the log from June's Board Meeting to verify, and we stated at that time we were anticipating an additional $500 into the Gift Pool (which apparently arrived as promised) and Clipper just reported another $100 yet, putting the Gift Pool over $743.46. We were waiting for a max amount of funds before wiring them, to maximize transfer on the $15 wiring charge. Ron reports that we only have $316.73 in the corporate checking account, and this is committed to the original $250 we approve at the last meeting and the $100 for additional seed, falling short with cash on hand to cover those items.
To keep the video project moving, we need to provide the actual cost of video production to Geson, as when we allocated funds for completion we did NOT have Geson present, nor did we have any costing figures from him. The $250 is not adequate (see memo below). There is every indication that the video is excellent, as Geson put a RealVideo on the web, and Jan, Michel, and Gerard viewed it, making very positive comments.
This project is very close to completion, a gift of time and talent from Geson. Following the final, formal, viewing of the video by the Board, from the mailed version of the video, we can move along to composing a cover letter and sending it to TV stations! Reproduction costs, copying the original, are not exorbitant, my understanding. I had this done a couple years ago here in the bay area, and done en mass, is cheaper still. Mailing costs are minimal.
If we ad the funds in the Gift Pool to what is in the corporate account, we have $1,000 or so, with only $350 committed at present. If others agree with me on the urgency of completing the video project, then we need a motion to up the allocated funding to cover actual costs, to $530 for this project. I think an e-mail votecall to address this issue would be sufficient, as it has been discussed at length earlier. This means that the new $100 received in the Gift Pool and dedicated to web site costs can be held aside and discussed next month, as to disbursement. Allocating an additional $280 to Geson would still leave some $400 in the accounts, about $100 in the Gift Pool as required by the bank, and $300 or so in the corporate accounts, by my figures.

I'm looking for a motion and second on this. Geson needs an additional $280 to cover costs. This is a great gift, of time and effort and talent, and we should NOT DELAY.

A motion has been made and seconded that the Board outlay of $250 to cover costs of video production and mailing to Board Members for final review, prior to production for TV stations, be increased to $530, an additional $280. This is a bargain, and represents Geson's costs, not his effort or time. All Board Members (you know who you are) in favor vote Yes, opposed No.
