The Cape York Peninsula on Australia is vulnerable from several angles during the pole shift. First, it is proximal to the many volcanoes in Indonesia, and will be awash with hot ash, being downwind, for decades after the shift. Second, is stands in the wash-way between the Pacific and Indian Oceans, and the water rushing to and fro will cause high and rapidly moving flood tides along its coasts. Third, it will be inundated by a flood of human refuges prior to the pole shift, and will be the wash point where these desperate people arrive by boat after the shift, from any survivors in Indonesia. Fourth, portions of the peninsula will go under water within two years after the shift, due to polar melting. Going beyond these matters, however, those who do settle there after the shift will find easy access to ocean fishing and an agreeable climate.
